CAMPBELL, CA — April 18, 2025 — Pando Home Care, a holding company dedicated to acquiring non-medical home care agencies across the United States, announces its launch today.
David Mella and Nick Olsen will lead the newly formed firm, both experienced operators with particular expertise acquiring and integrating businesses in large, fragmented markets.
The company’s strategy will be to acquire majority stakes in a network of agencies across the US, creating shared services to support operations and enable greater growth.
“These home care agencies are pillars in their communities” said David Mella, co-founder of Pando Home Care. “We want to maintain local brands because these organizations have painstakingly earned trust over time. And we want to maintain flexibility and afford autonomy in operations, because there are local nuances that agencies know best how to navigate.”
Centralized expertise will be built out at the holding company level to provide support for home care agencies, including back-office support across IT, finance, and compliance, and sharing proven operational best practices for marketing and recruiting.
Pando is named after the Pando tree, a large network of aspen trees in central Utah that shares a vast root system.
“The vision for Pando will reflect the structure of the Pando tree. The platform lays a connected foundation for our businesses, which will enable greater growth and reach and allow caregivers to focus on delivering the best care for every client” said Nick Olsen.
Two acquisitions have already been executed by Pando in the second half of 2024, Family Matters In-Home Care, and Homecare California, both of which are based in the Bay Area and will serve as the foundation for Northern California operations.
